Well, I have recently bought a frame with an old iscg mount, and my chain guide doesnt fit, being iscg 05. So i was thinking, as they cost so much money id just make my own!

I'm guessing if i can find somewhere that can sell me a small bit of sheet aluminium, i should be able to shape it quite easily. Or does anyone think a bit of acrylic would be strong enough?

Thanks

Hi Andy,

Sorry to hijack your thread, but please can you get in touch about the FF tyres.

Cheers,

I made this from polycarbonate with a drill, hacksaw and files. Guides are made from low friction plastic.

I suppose plastic would work OK as a chain guide, the problem would surely be stiffness, it'd bend rather than keep the chain on (think how much force you need to get a chain back on the chainring after it's come off and jammed itself somewhere, and the guide needs to counter that).

Or just stick it on ebay, wait for somwone to bid within £15 of a new one for it, then wait for CRC to have a sale (it's what I did).
