It's the little details that do it, Tune Prince/Princess hubs, full length Alligator i-links, every bolt that could be Ti is, pre-production Formula R1s (bit less bling now they are actually in production), etc.

Yes it has been ridden, but photo was taken before the first ride.

Something even more bling on it's way (new bike thread to follow soon)

Yeah, I do need more Pics. I will sort some and upload them. I got the paint done at Argos. I spent ages with them discussing the colours and how to get the sparkley finish. They used the largest metal flake you can put through a paint gun onto a standard metalic colour, then double lacured on top. Looks different in different light. When the sunlight catches it just right it looks magic, in dull light it just looks emererald green.

Some people dont like the colour, but hey, its my bike and Im riding it ๐Ÿ™‚

I have fallen off and scratched it, which hurt for about five mins.

I really don't like niner carbons other than on the air 9! They look horrible.

Sorry!

It's pretty much there after just over a year of constant tweaking. For trail days I use a set of Crossmax SXs. The nice touches are the Stoy shock. Ti spring, shockmount bolts, rotor bolts and brake mount bolts. NSB brake mounts, cane creek angleset, Straitline levers and Point 1 Podium pedals. I'm also loving the 745mm Sunline V1 bars.

Who cares. That's one of the nicest bikes I've ever seen. Stunning.
You've reawoken the "I want a Ti hardtail" itch, damn you.

Thanks Ash :o) Needs a wash after a very muddy ride yesterday though! Some more pics here if you are interested;

Nothing with silly bars can be considered bling - that's like putting a diamond on a tramp and saying that he's bling ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now sporting a slightly less gauche look, more functional though... and I'm happy to ride it in this guise as well, no fears of getting her muddy ๐Ÿ™‚ Soon to be converted to a SS as well for additional simplicity and clean lines 8)

My old 223:

[img] [/img]

Resprayed in metallic Cherry Red
Fox 40's
Saint cranks
Hope 6 pot / 4 pot brakes
Thomson seatpin
King headset

Was the last new bike (or frame) that I bought, everything since has been secondhand. Sold a good few years ago and now replaced by the following ratty looking things:

Orange Patriot 66 / FR prototype
[img] [/img]

Sunday WC with uplift scratches galore
[img] [/img]

Chameleon in singlespeed mode (and yes, the saddle is too high - it got lowered about a minute after the shot)

That is THE bike isn't it Tops, the one we all wanted.

The one and only Fat Chance Yo Eddy.

I was a heart beat away from buying one back in 1991, but I ended up with a Bontrager instead.

I so should have bought the Yo Eddy.

solar1

i hate you! ๐Ÿ˜€

the yo eddy and the boulder were two of the bikes i craved 20 years ago!
my friend has a broken yo eddy hanging in his work shop. i think i spend more time looking at that then the new stuff he makes.

dunno if bling and bikes fit really?
"Surely Bling means 'in yer face' and 'a bit vulgar'. Subtle sophistication is where it's at really " ....agreed.

'fashion, something so ugly it has to change every 15 minutes,
but style is more versatile, it's in the way you walk or the way you smile'

i don't remember the band but i like the lyric. so my vote is the singular rigid ti 29er with loads of carbon for being new yet timeless, and pure class.
