Sorry but that doesn't really count as bling. It's nice but it's not bling.

This is bling:

Bling = something that is pimped way beyond what is necessary!

I don't mind spending on good stuff, but there's a point after which you're only buying for blings sake.

This was probably as much as I'll ever spend on a bike.

This could get interesting! To me something you can just buy from any old bikeshop isn't bling, mass produced stuff just doesnt do it imo. Everyone will have a different idea of what counts though! Bling is in the eye of the beholder 🙂
Bling or pimp to me is something a little bit different and/or something a bit special or where a lot of thought has gone into.
For instance I've had 4 mango sapphires mounted into my sterling silver Independent Fabrication headbadge, that's bling in my book 😉

EDIT - Darn - while I was typing too

This has got to be the blingest ride that actually feels like your riding on air: it's nickname is the jet.

There you go Robdob 😛

Yes, they're linear like standard gear outer and not spiral wound, only difference is that they're slightly thicker (5mm instead of 4mm) so you'll need to use brake outer ferrules - standard gear inner wire will run in them fine though.

Oooh, littlegirlbunny, that's rather nice 😛

Nahh - I reckon you've all headed to a higher plane of existence where titanium is regarded as a Halfords special material.

I should never have typed what I did - you got me perfectly with the timing of your post

Well I think bling isn't necessarily the most expensive parts. My Pitch Pro (brown anodised) is going the 70's disco look - gold pedals, bashguard and I just got these Spank Royala bars and stem which (it says on the package) are 24ct gold plated - that's bling!

I have a nice enough bike but it will never reach the higher echelons of bling, basically because I can barely afford the rent let alone bling bike bits, and it's not important anyway. . When I see someone on a totally bling bike, for some reason I expect them to ride amazingly as well - it's not the case. I am not the most skillful rider, and I am certain, buying lighter/shinier stuff isn't gonna make me any better. But I like pictures 🙂

😉 @ igm, they must be watching!
I'm not sure oldgit, I've got a SpotBrand with a silver headset spacer? Maybe that's what you're thinking of? The sapphires I havecare mounted in the headbadge and match the paint on the bike.

£50 at the Go Outdoors sale, I have literally waited 15 years to buy a workstand, within 2 minutes of using it I kicked myself for not buying one sooner!!

Bling schming.

If I had a £150 rear mech and £450 cranks my bike wouldn't leave the house for fear of getting it spoilt.

That said, it's fascinating to see what people come up with given an outrageous supply of cash and imagination.

I think it might have been either Salsaboy or coffeeking that had the jeweled IF or Spot.
