7 of us out tonight, very wet, very muddy, very slidey, great fun though

Rear mech exploded for no reason into the rear wheel on the last downhill. Bloody SRAM GX, second time that's happened.

Only a flat mile walk home, couldn't be bothered SS' ing and the wheel is shagged anyway.

Great fun though! Leatt monosuit was a godsend, hosed myself down, peeled it off in the shed, clean and dry underneath

Rode home from work. It was unnaturally dark. There were flooded roads. There were dickhead motorists. There were gusty headwinds. I’ve had worse.

I skiddaddled  over 430 miles from Mullion Cove to Patterdale, got a blister on my accelerator heal. Does that count?

Smashed out a lap with a mate before work this morning. The taste of dust and the smell of distant bushfires, but at least it wasn’t too hot.

To be fair it wasn't much of a storm in Derbyshire, just really shitty weather

Pfft, it was enough to put most folk off. Flooded roads on Matlock moor and the flood prevention pumps out in the town centre.

Out in it were you mate? 🤣

didn't ride my bike into work as there were 50mph winds forecast all afternoon and I thought riding ma bike home in that might be a bit tricky, so i walked instead. Come the afternoon hardly any wind, just a bit breezy, just a bit of rain, not even real rain - I'm in the south. I ran home a cross country route instead, it was very muddy though which made it quite interesting trying to stay upright!

We have not been in the path of either storm recently thankfully

Are people getting storm jealously?

On my ride home I usually see lot's of dog walkers, a couple of other cyclists, various other walkers.

Yesterday: no-one.

@TheArtistFormerlyKnownAsSTR I'm not far from there and it wasn't too bad at all.....

Because I looked outside and decided to shut the curtains, light the candles and spend the evening tucked under a down quilt on the sofa 😀
