If its £1000 to go to the Alps say, how much would Whister be, for a week.

It's hard to say, I would suggest right now, when out there it's cheaper than the Alps currently due to the exchange rate.

But you have the small matter of a 10hr flight to get there, and that's going to cost a reasonable sum of money.

It's a really long way to go, just for a week, when you take into account jet lag.

Looked at whistler a few times..

Alps can be done cheap especially if a bunch of you drive.
Bike park prices for whistler are high but you don't need to pay everyday depending on what you do.

Take a look at some of the package deals for a decent comparison though.

When I went over to Vancouver I made the mistake of getting excited when we got to Canada, it's a very long way from the east coast 🙁

How is the Alps a grand?

Admittedly I've only done Road over there but 3-4 sweary blokes in a car splitting costs is pretty good value and accommodation is cheap too

Is it uplift and guiding or something?

I'm doing 3 weeks in whistler this year and budgeting £1,500 to do it.Flight was 600, transfers 100, lift pass (as we're going in September when prices drop) 150, acccomodation (self catered aparment) 300 and the rest for food and spending money etc.

Alternatively our average Alps trip for 2-3 weeks tends to cost about £1,000.

I did Alps last year for well under a grand for a week.
£140 for return flight Gatwick to Geneva (inc. bike bag)
£150 B&B at the lovely Beauregard
£120ish for a hire car (always get from the Swiss side of the airport, VAT is lower than France and you get the vignette included)
I think about £60 for a lift pass that covered the entire PDS.

ETA: I'm not sure what I spent outside of that. Food is pretty reasonable, beer is expensive though.

Kinda hard to forecast next year, if the CAD strengthens it could get a lot more expensive.

because that what it costs us.

I'm sure we could do it for less, we just choose not to.

Chalet, catering, guiding, beer, wine, food. Good times with pals rarely seen.

As above go in Sept/early Oct for the best deals.

Cheap bike park pass (fall season pass, around £125 iirc), cheap(er) accom, and still normally decent weather by UK standards.

Only drawback is they close the Garbo zone early Sept (open wkends though). But plenty to keep you entertained in Fitz, especially if it's your 1st trip.

It's awesome, if you can, GO!!!!!!!!!!
