Hi im currently buildnt up a whyte 46 and just got tyres, rear mech and cranks left to get.

Mostly going to be using the bike for all day rides and trail centers.

Only been riding DH, dirt jumps and parks over the last coupls of years so not really up on XC kit. What tyres do people rate? Looking at something around 2.3-2.4 and want to run them tubeless (got stans flow rims with tubless kit fitted). Looking for an all round tyre (not mud tyre) as still got my 11 year old cannondale i use for winter night rides when its all wet, muddy and horrible.

Any help would be much appreciated.

have a look at the Spesh Purgatory, got some to try in August and really like em, from riding the peak district to sherwood pines, they are fairly cheap (£22 each) blow up big and fairly light too.

lecht - yes, although i use bonty rims which are notoriously tight anyway. they are virtually air tight even though the rims aren't tubeless!

You using these tubeless?

I got a pair in the Jenson sale but haven't fitted them yet. Stans site says Intense not recommended as thin sidewalls.

BTW, the 909 I put on my Reign was very tight, are all Intense like that?

the sidewalls are very thin so i haven't tried them tubeless. I also have 909 FRO and World Cup EXDC for the big bike. The 909 FRO are double side wall but the world cups are much thinner.

they are all difficult to get off but then that's a good thing in my mind
