So, assuming I understood the article I briefly looked at, they're going to open access for bikes in Wales on certain bits [high up, open?] bits of land.
And assuming also, that we're all currently agreed that the 'natural' riding in the Lakes pisses all over that available currently in NWales....
Would NWales riding on footpaths and Bridleways give it the edge over Lakes in the future with just Bridleways?
Or will stuff like Ullswater East continue to be the eppytome of awesome southerns cycling?

That's a hideously good point Youvan
I would say there is more to go at in the lakes and the overall quality is higher.
There's a lot of stuff in N Wales that's footpath that will open up. Not in the high mountains of course, the topography isn't suitable, but elsewhere. Probably not as good for epic loops but there'll be some sweet singletrack descents on mountainsides I reckon.
@thegeneralist it will take time for the results of the consultation to be actioned so I wouldn’t rush to plan trips into Wales based on opening access just yet.
