I need to replace the wheels on my road bike.
Wanting something more robust than lightweight - Have the choice of 105 hubs on Open Pro or Hope hubs on Open Pro. £200 v £300 or thereabouts.
If money WAS an object, which wheels would you plump for? Are the Hopes going to be that much better/reliable?
I have 32H Open Pro CD rims on The Hope Pro hubs. I'd highly recommend them. I have them in the red ano finish as it matches my frameset. If that's your kind of thing.
I love hope hubs. However, if money is an issue and you know how to look after cup and cone, you'll not really notice any difference with the 105.
Hope make a lovely sound though, keeps you pedalling.
I bought Open Pro/ Hopes for strength rather than lightness and they don't disappoint.
I like the look of these....

Don't know if they're any good or not, but I like the look of them at least.
Want something fairly bombproof, gearing the bike more for audax. 30+ spokes per wheel.
