Ive recently just built a pair of wheels for myself, I was very surprised at how relatively easy the project was, but I reckon the hole process would be made easier if I had a truing stand, (I used the bike upside down method)
So heres my question, i don't want to go crazy and buy an expensive one.
Ive been looking at the M.Wave stand and the TACX EXACT stand, has any one got any experience with either of them and or can any one recommend me a half descent cheep stand ??
I made one, well 2 actually years ago, they work just fine, dont have any photos of mine but after a quick search on google they are a bit like this but with sheets of ply to make wheel holder/lateral adjusting guides in one piece, and cut a dishing tool out of ply as well and added a metal slider as the guage
Roger Mussons wheel building book includes instructions for building a very neat stand (from wood), if your a "handy" with a wood saw.
(£9 for the book vs. $$$ for some very cheap looking stands..)
I have the Roger Mussons book and I have considered building one my self, me being a joiner that shouldn't be to much trouble and probably the way I'll go in the end 😀
But I'm still interested on what others experiences are on the stands above if any ?
