I'm looking to do a route that includes a visit to Lee Quarry.
I've done one before which is an out&back from Edenfield. Over the winter that involved dropping all the way down Rooley Moor Road to Stacksteads and goign to/from the quarry by road.
I've got one or two bits of info about alternative routes in drier weather - basically cutting over from the RMR - including the Bogtrotters Oct '08 route.
Just wondering if anyone's got any more info before I go off exploring? Ideally I'd like routes as either TrackLogs or GPX but all info is good info.
there is a footpath that goes down from RMR to the southern corner of the quarry
only worth it in the dry, should be obvious due to MXer damage/ use
the descent of MTL or RMR is better/ more fun and then cut around the back of stacksteads folowing signs for the cemetary
Sent you email...
I went up and tried one route which for 3/4 of the way was pants
the group of 6 doing "hike-a-bike" on an alternative route seemed equally impressed
Got your email Steve.
Ta - looks like an interesting route.
