I am looking at mud tyres now for the winter and am stuck between 2, the maxxis medusa or the bontrager mud x. I havn't tried either of these so I need your opinions on them, They are both pretty similar weight and price so I am really looking for how they perform in thick gloopy mud and on wet fire roads?
Cheers

thats what i use when its really atrocious weather 8)
either tyres would be good as they both roll well and hook up well in deep gloop too...its whichever you prefer out of the 2 and whichever is cheapest
I am using Maxxis advantages and they are fantastic in the wet and mud.
Used Bonty Mud X's and could not find the cornering grip with them.
Plus 1 for medusas have used them for the last 2 winters great tyre and to be fair there is at least 3/4 others in my local group that use them 2. Also consider panracer trailrakes got 1/2 who swear by these also.
Bats.
I used the Specialized Storms last winter and found them excellent. This year I'm trying a 2.2 Purgatory on the front and a 2.0 Storm on the rear.
