Currently I have avid juicy 3 brakes that came with my bike. However the front brake is extremely noisy and always seems to have a problem after every ride resulting in a trip to the shop. Im considering replacing just the front brake. I have been looking at the formula rx but was wondering whether it was worth the price, akso i was looking at the avid bb7 just due to price and mainly reliability. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'd just buy Shimano's Deore/SLX/XT all will be good.
BB7 is a great brake.
It has the advantages:
that it uses the same pads as your J3, should save a bit of cash.
If you have an old V lever lying about you can just buy the calliper.
If you're not so sure with spannering, nice and easy to operate.
I'd go for it,
