This question illustrates the stupidity of the current regulations on what you can and can't post.

In the Post Office the other day sending a bike component by Special Delivery:

PO: What's in the package?
Me: A bike component
PO: Does it contain grease?
Me: What do you mean precisely?
PO: Well, is there any grease in it?
Me: It's a bike component, if you do a chemical analysis on it I am pretty sure you're going to return a positive test, but then if you did the same on 99% of other things I'm pretty sure you'd find trace elements of grease also, so again, what exactly do you mean?
PO: Just tell me no then I can send it.

I recently sent a couple of forks with Parcelforce, via the Post Office.

I just used their collect service. The difference in what you will pay at the post office and their collection is a few quid and its a whole lot more convenient.
