Hi Guys

Anyone have any reccomendations for a light yet confortable saddle to get me through 100k Sierra Nevada Singletrack for a week or two? The bike is very stiff so can become uncomfortable after 60k or so. Currently using a Fizik Arione Wingflex but has now fallen apart. I was relatively pleased with it but im sure theres something more comfortable out there. Spend up to around £120

Apologies for the grammar... im on an unhelpful work keyboard.

Thanks

Wilf

almost impossible to say as saddles can be a very personal thing. I found a Fizik Pave a little stiff and the profile not quite right, currently using an SLR, I think the Flite i had before was a little more comfortable.

I've found changing the seatpost is the most effective way of improving ride comfort.
the Toupe ti saddle's fit me well but don't offer any real padding.
Added to a cheap ebay Ti post made a huge difference even over carbon, as it had more flex.

It's definitely a personal thing. I'm using a WTB Shadow on a hardtail and it is very comfy, but I used to use a Flite Ti and was able to ride all day on that. The other thing to bear in mind is that a saddle that is well broken in (by your own butt!) will be much more comfortable than a new one.

And have you tried different shorts?

Just bought myself a lovely Selle Italia SLR Fibra saddle - comfy, carbon railed and 135g

Was on offer from OnOne / PlanetX

Ive owned 3 of these (currently own two) and when i was riding them and racing them i never found them uncomfy. If i had the post to fit i would have an sdg formula fx on it or a gobi xm kium. Slap 100mm up front with a nice saddle.Tyre choice is endless as theres more room than half of the hardtails out there today.

yep, it's a personal thing. I have an SDG Bell Air on a Thompson. The saddle has always been right but I did notice a difference when I swapped posts recently. I used to use an FSA and it flexed a little so helped with my ultra stiff ali frame. I wish I could help recommend something, good luck on the ride, OP. 😉

Specialized BG Avatar has been the best for me. Current bike has a charge spoon and it gets uncomfortable for more than a couple of miles.
