My jockey wheels are looking more like the end off a pizza cutter rather than anything that used to have teeth.
Can I fit any old 11 tooth jockey wheels or do they need to be specific ones for this rear mech?
Seem to be a huge variety in price from what I've seen - anything you'd recommend or anything I should avoid?
Thanks
In the same boat here. I am going to give BBB Rollerboys a go.
I would recommend the bbb ones.
KCNC have been on my ride for over a year now and work brilliantly. You can even choose your colour !
+1. I've just fitted some BBB's to my XT rear mech and they seem to be pretty damn good so far. Much better than the Shimano ones I fitted last time.
So any old 11 tooth BBB ones then or are they specific to my mech?
I just got BBB BDP02 for a 9 speed deore shadow mech. They're 9/10 speed 11t. I've had them before on other bikes and they work properly and last ages.
Just pulled a pair of BBB's off my bike - tension pulley wheel bearing seized solid. The (top hat) design of the plastic axle inserts is also poor - really bad for snagging long grass, sheep wool etc.
I've tried various after market JW's over the years and none have matched XT for reliability / longevity. Rose bikes sell them pretty cheap.
BBBs but pop the seals off the bearings and whack a bit more grease in them before fitting - that way they last ages.
