I'm getting tired of loading my mud covered bike into the back of my Ford Fiesta MK7, so I think it's time to get a bike rack.
What would you recommend?
I'm thinking of getting some roof bars and then buying a roof mounted bike rack. Is this generally the best solution?

Do you have a tow ball? They're the best place to mount a rack, secure, no chance of marking your vehicle and out of the wind so they have a minimal impact of fuel economy.

Always used to put the bike in the back of the car but got feed up of the mud-fest. Bought a Thule one that swings down to give access to the boot.

I run Mont Blanc aero bars and Thule 591's for now, with a Saris Solo knocking around for odd occasions it becomes useful. At some point one of the 591's will become a 598 for Fat

Retired my Thule 591s in favour of it (and because I can't/won't fit roofbars to my new car).
