Heading down for a bit of the good life for a week or so and will take new bike with me! Am going to be 'not far' from Esher shore (which is good) but any sugestions of rides I can do local to Surby would be appreciated. Have no car tho so limited to local stuff, there must be some stuff in Richmond Park etc!

Thanks in advance!

A

You can easily ride to Hampton Court Palace - just go over the bridge at Kingston. Then cross the bridge at Hampton Court Palace - there is a nice tow path and an excellent pub I used to go to for lunch right on the river.

Ok so it's not mountain biking as such but in this weather the pubs are great down there.

Hmm sounds good to me! cheers! I figure proper mountain biking is going to be hard to come by but tow paths and pubs certainly do it for me! Esher Shore place looks great tho if I get brave!

If you get an A to Z you will see you can pop over again further upstream past Hampton (where I used to live) and then go up to Teddington Lock which is also nice then back across to Surbiton. I wasnt into mountain biking when there but I used to get out on my hybrid.

You could also finish at Richmond Bridge where everyone hangs out for a beer too. You have a lot of choices for beer stops!

Hello

My old neck of the woods. As above the river paths are great - up to Hampton Court then along to Richmond is lovely but may be a little crowded in this lovely weather.
If you're feeling more adventurous I'd road it down to Esher up a307. hang a left just before u get into Esher via Littleworth Common(opp Station rd) over to Esher Common & Oxshott Heath. Not everywhere is, ahem, legal but there are plenty of bridleways and you shouldnt have any probs during the week if go 'lose your way'. Nothing too technical tho but better if you prefer the woods.

Can expand a little if u interested in above
Enjoy

Or you could ride along the Thames and get to Windsor. Flat but pretty (and loads of pubs on-route).
More serious, only half a degree more, would be Richmond Park.
I used to ride up to Horsenden Hill in Perivale to ride up and down the hill there and tear through golf courses there ๐Ÿ˜‰
