I've seen North Shore with jumps in them that I think "I could do that", but then when I see it's 8' in the air, I think "nope, not for me".
Where's best to go to practice on lower, but still gappy stuff?

you wont find a friendlier atmosphere and better teacher anywhere in the uk

There's a couple of good lines for learning at chicksands but a lot of it has been knocked down. still got the two ladders though.

Eshershore is very good but I don't know if they have tuition services. Plus it's in the South.

Start small and get bigger. They had some ramps of different sizes in Morzine which where good as you could try on the smaller ones then get bigger and move them about to make the gaps wider. Thought it would be a good idea to make something like that.

Thers a few bits of timber work (and dirt) over Cannock Chase DH thats Ok for upping confidence on drops.
