Have booked flight to Geneva first half of Sept with bike in tow with the intention of some Alpine singletrack using bikepacking (with minimal kit) and refuges/hostels as accom. Was thinking of a tour between Chamonix valley/Bourg St Maurice/Annecy, but not liking that any lifts in the area will be closed - some climbing is fine but not every day, i'm on holiday after all...
Alternative is Switzerland as lifts will more likely be operating but the expense of eating out is prohibitive (been many times so know this).
Aosta valley perhaps? (done La Thuile in the past)

All lifts inside the Chamonix valley except for Plan Joran and Vallorcine are still open in the first half of September.
