HRH & our two boys are visiting friends in That London over the weekend, which gives me some free time for a ride on Saturday morning.
I need to be home by midday as I'm being taken out for lunch.
I'm willing & able to be up and out as early as necessary. So where should I go for a morning ride?
I'm based in Marple, & have the use of a car to get to a trail.
I was just reading another thread where it said that Marple was in spitting distance of the Peak. I'd get up very, very early, like about 5 am, roll out of your front door in the cool of the morning and go do something mildly epic for you - out over Jacob's, back over Cut Gate maybe. Or a shorter loop. Appreciate being out, sharpen your sense of wonder and roll home to a well-earned lunch and an afternoon nap.
Edit - I like the sound of that, I think I might do it myself ๐
Or the other way - Jacobs to edale (toastie at the caf - they're nice), back via rushup edge / south head. Dump your car in Chinley if you want to make it a bit shorter.
I might do that this afternoon, although I quite fancy Hathersage.
