better off on a hardtail to be honest, especially at glentress.

There isnt really anything to "throw it off" at glentress. Theres a few drops on the dh tracks at inners but the make or brake is better on a hardtail

He's right you know? I have 2 DH bikes and a miniDH (4") bike but also ride a hardtail quite a bit at inners for both DH and XC and it copes just fine, there's not a drop there I wouldn't do on it and most jumps there are far nicer on it than a big bike too. (pinning it for full DH runs can get a bit sore on the hands and feet after a few tho)
GT freeride is pretty shite on anything but a hardtail TBH.

but you can probanly hire/borrow a bike from the Hub/Alpine or I-Cycles if you want.
