I've bought a new rack and the bolts to tighten up bits are normal spanner head bolts. I can see this being a bit of a pain so i was thinking of getting some bolts that i can hand tighten (which will be tight enough) so a wing nut type head or plastic star or something but where from??
ta
I need one of these for my old car rack (don't currently use it, but it would be useful to have working again).
Anyone?
B&Q or Wickes
Sure they're 12mm?
The bolt diameter determines the size not the spanner needed [usually]
tried B&Q, Wickes, Screwfix and searched the net,
yep 12mm diameter (19mm head)
Stoner, thanks but i need a bolt not a nut
oops, sorry.
buy a cheap 19 spanner and tie it to the rack?
Try someone more specialist? - At work we use these chaps, who seem to be able to get hold of all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff...

try searching for M12 Thumbscrews
Go to your local ironmongers or nut and bolt/fixings supplier. If they dont have it, theyll point you the right way. Or even call in to a local engineering place and offer then a few quid. No doubt that that way, they'll just give you a few
ta Stoner, they'll do, good work!
