@dovebiker - the last time I went on a decent big group adv/dirtbike ride I got into a "scary situation" on a fast hillclimb. Chasing the dust of a couple of KTMs right at the back of the pack (we'd stopped to fix a puncture) I ended up heading down a rut with a massive rock at the end and a gulley of indeterminate size to the left. I managed to almost stop before smashing the front wheel into it. Over the bars to the left of the bike and onto the rock and then slow motion slid down into the gulley. Fortunately unhurt, I had to scramble back up the rock to find a guy and his wife coming down the hill in their 4x4, looking rather puzzled at the unattended Yammy and me peaking my head over the top!
Lucky he was there actually as I really struggled to get the bike out of the rut and in a position to ride it again!
