notubes ZTR rims on XT hubs: light and strong, or not a great wheelset? Using Maxxis tyres (Advantage). Wheels seem ok to me but if my memory serves not as light as on the the test Pivot Mach 5.7 I looked over, and wonder if they are worthy of considering for an upgrade?

Silly question - everything can be upgraded ๐Ÿ™‚ - rephrase: are they a decent wheelset, or not?

Which ZTR rims? All Stans rims have a pretty good weight/strength combination, they're probably fine. What bike are they on?

I'd never though of xt hubs as being light.

Decent for sure IMO, there will be better things to spend money on.

Really need to know which ZTR rim in all honesty as there's quite a range now. XT hubs are solid working hubs but aren't the lightest out there. Are you running tubeless at all? A while ago my mate and I both had Yeti 575's and with basically the same build except for the wheels, I ran Goldtec's on Stans 355's and he ran Hopes on 717's and the weight difference between the 2 bikes was quite a lot. He did a lot of head scratching hehe

XT hubs aren't all that light but not all that heavy (the rear hub weighs about the same as a Pro 2 with steel hub, if you want a direct comparison). 6-bolt ones tend to be heavier than centrelocks.

But nowt wrong with that wheelset.

thanks all - when I have spare money, I'll not spend it on wheels unless they are square by then.....
