Cos sometimes you can't always bail in the way you would like and it would be nice to avoid pain from the kind of impact as seen at around the 3:55 mark in this video

If such an item doesn't exist I think it deserves a go on Dragons Den

Such an item does exist, it's aimed at beginner snowboarders who also tend to bash their backsides. Google around snowboarding protective clothing and I'm sure you'll find something.

I should think that if under 20 then you should MTFU.
If over 40 then you have left it too late (possibly).

In all seriousness though. Flat pedals and a finger covering the rear brake should be all you need.
