[#4193202]

I have a 'spare' rear wheel, 717 on xt hub, which I got from Merlin a year or so back but have never actually used. So I put it on the other day while current wheel getting some work done, and found it to be dished a few mm too far to the non drive side. It's not casing any rub, just that clearance on the chainstays are a bit tighter on that side. So is it worth taking it to the LBS for a 'tweak' ? or is it more than a tweak to sort, or should I just forget about it and ride !

Turn the wheel around. Does the error stay where it is or does it swap sides? It could be the frame. No need for a bike shop. If it is the wheel, just go around one side of the wheel and add a quarter turn to each spoke to pull it across to centre.

+1 for tightening up one side of the spokes to pull the rim across.

Quater to half a turn each and it will be fine.

I'd check both the wheel & the frame. Unlikely a decent builder would have let the wheel go out dished badly.

Thanks all, frame is fine as it's only happening with this wheel. will go for the 1/4 turn on the spokes, cheers

It could be that the other wheel had been dished to the frame. Worth checking as all you need to do is turn the wheel around.
