Ive been fond of sis's mixed berry superhydro for a while but they have changed it and I'm not so keen now, I tried some nuun the last few rides (strawberry lemonade) but found it a bit blah.

Whats everybody's favourite? Of to buy some more of something after work but not sure what to go for.

Claret!

no, water, only put flavoured things in first time after sterilising it.

On the zipfit box there's an asterix, can't see the 'small print' must round the back, what does it say?

Those Zipvit are tasty, mainly use Nuun myself, think the Zipvit has a small amount of calories in it, so avoid using it in the bag

Nectar ones at Wiggle are lovely too.

Water although I did try some of my friends High5 tabs, the one with caffeine in and it was quite tasty.

I use a 50:50 mix of apple juice and water. Reasonably cheap, can be resupplied en route, tastes nice and has some carbs too.

Tried using Lucozade Sport for a while, as it was on special offer, but found it too sweet when taking lots of sips from a CB over long periods. And it felt like my teeth were rotting off by the end of the ride! Then tried some powdered electrolyte stuff (forget the brand, could have been SIS). Tasted ok but was a bit sickly, even when using a low concentration.

Now I just use water!

Now that I would have loved to have seen.... very funny !

Water, or water with some Ginger & Lemon Grass cordial for me(the posh stuff in the tall green bottles) Nuun citrus fruit for big hot rides because it does help with cramp avoidance.

Just tried Torq Lemon & Lime for an energy boost because I've been taking some pain killers/anti inflammatories that have ****ed me up and I have to say that it was quite nice.

I'm sure it's completely true - if you drink a drink with no sugar in it, you'll surely burn more fat than someone drinking a sugary drink.

Doubt it burns fat any different than water, though.

I tend to drop a Zero tab in my drink purely as I find it more palatable than plain water. Also it really did seem to stop me getting cramp.

Water, sometimes with ice cubes.

If it's really hot, I'll freeze the full bladder overnight for a longer lasting ice cold drink
It defrosts at a nice steady rate usually

That flavoured still water from Morrisons, the orange & peach one is tasty so I tend to drink more than I would if it was plain watta.

Water usually. To all the hot chocolate/vodka/squash/energy drink users, how do you get the bladder and gubbins clean, specifically the bite valve and hose joints.

Ovaltine? Sounds to good to be true, how long does it stay hot/warm/drinkable for?

Sparkling water! I would love to have seen that, my brother (new to mountainbiking) put some of that carbonated rockstar energy drink in, fairly amusing i just left him to it.

I also tried lucozade still when i had nothing else, FAR too sweet it was like drinking treacle, not refreshing at all.

Water, although sometimes if i forgot to wash it out last time I'll add a bit of squash to hid the taste. But water's all you really need. If you're going really hard core maybe some kind of carb/electrolyte mix, but most people don't really need/feel the benefit of them.

I tried a pretty hard and fast road ride this weekend with 2 bottle of lucozade sport, and as said above I could hardly drink it with out being sick - wish I'd added water to it.

Ask Graeme Obree what he drinks if you want an answer without marketing BS.

At the mo, I'm drinking 50/50 mixture of water & pure fruit juice.

On very long rides I'm going to start experimenting with the above but adding 40g of pure honey, 40g of maple syrup and a pinch of Morton's Lo Salt. How big a pinch, I'm not sure. I read somewhere of adding about 3-4g in 2-3 litres of liquid.
