Bikebouy's Klein defines a whole era of mountain biking. Beautiful.

Bars have been dropped since I took that, I just have't brought myself to cut the stem yet! ๐Ÿ˜ณ It's currently hibernating...

It's the only bike I've ever owned that total strangers, with seemingly no interest in cycling have commented "nice bike". Often.

Merlin... RIP

djaustin I like your bike so don't take my comments as offensive.

For looks only, though I assume you use that I'd say
Nice proper road pillar instead of the mountain-bikey Easton.
For photos only remove the pump, saddle bag and light.
And I can't bear to see a bike with a computer fitted, horrid ruins the lines.
And if that's where you need the spacers then so be it, shame though.
Seen one at a show, very nice.

Parlee looks stunning

If it was about 2006, you probably saw mine. I bought it from Fatbirds after they'd built it up for the shows. I now can manage with one spacer, but to be honest, I'd have been better with the longer head tube of the more recent version. I just like the horizontal top tube.

If you look closely, you will see that it also sports Campagnolo Centaur in grey to match the Ti frame. Pedals will be replaced with white, and I'm seriously thinking Brooks leather bar tape and a Swallow saddle. Anyway, the finance controller has approved new wheels this spring ๐Ÿ˜€ .

We had one of the very first Cielos they did, carbon tubes, ti lugs with all the intricate detailing. Looked ****ing horrible IMO!

English Cycles is a good shout (C-Ls road bike link, less that clown bike), really like what Rob's doing there, the integrated Exposure Flare mount is great!

Very few look elegant! Some of those road bikes just look cheap tat, even though they're carbon.

Understated is always the way to go. ๐Ÿ™‚

[s]resists posting up a pic of mine[/s]

Like all the swoopy carbon and technology, but for a roady this one...

Or for a mountain bike, this one. Every time I look at it I have to go for a ride, it's becoming a serious problem!

The Venge looks awesome from both angles, not usually a fan of carbon road bikes but that is a stiking design.

all the mtb's that look half decent are racey hardtails with rigid forks - mostly just a pair of drop bars away from looking really nice ๐Ÿ˜‰

Drools over keyboard ... apart from the yellow cable outer, which is a crime of heinous proportions.

Thanks to all the oldtimer classic bike fans! It's like a history lesson - incredible! Check the Klein out, the Headtube is as wide as a 1.5" now !! To me, one of the most beautiful bikes is this one underneath. It's a one-off which adds to the exclusivity, and the story behind it, is worth a read-up if you don't know it already. Built at home, Obree used a Washing Machine drum bearing for the BB...that's sheer genius!

I have seen a nicer one in the past, but the owner has removed the pics. This is the closest I can come to what the original looked like:

Those wheels with 'Lightweight' on them instantly rule out the bike they're attached to. Awful font.

What's your point DezB ?? It's a thread about bike beauty, and you can't never get too much bike beauty I'd say!! What's your favourite anyway? Put your muscle where your mouth is....

Love the English cycles stuff - suits my mountainbikers aesthetic of what a road bike should look like.
[img] [/img]

Also Baum for the paintjobs
[img] [/img]

As far as mtb race bikes go, well carbon doesn't really do much for me - especially in xc. Kate Potter's one off Soda was pretty special in the metal. And SOOO damn light.
[img] [/img]

DH bikes though - Turner DHR and Transition TR450 do it for me.

That's it !! I was waiting for an excuse to go to the States...San Francisco it is, then. I love that bike in the shop window. It looks like it has a linkage of some sort on the Top Tube, a la Ritchey Foldaway...beautiful and functional !!!

There are many - but Bobby's are probably the furthest from race bikes so far...

Swedish - my first thought was a Gios, just couldn't find a really nice pic.
