Not that I doubt you for one minute Bream but I'm struggling to see where the missing 5lb over a stock Anthem has evaporated.
Don't think thats the only one that requires a pinch of salt ๐
The scales I'm my LBS come up 10-20% light, depending on the weight of the bike. It makes the locals happy, but love my RIP as I do, it was never going to be sub 25lbs. I meant to buy them some new ones for Christmas.
Not sure on weight but doesn't matter as it's ace, even in this prototype form ๐

No BS here: Details of my build
Cut from that thread:
Weighs in at 9.76kgs, major weight saving is in the wheels:
Front wheel complete is 1.2kgs (Inlc disc & bolts, plus UST Racing Ralph)
Rear wheel complete is 1.6kgs (inlc disc, bolts, cassette, QR skewer & UST Racing Ralph).
Aye, over 6lbs frame only. ๐
I suppose I could lighten it with lighter wheels/tyres and binning the reverb then weighing it on Bream's scales. It would be lighter but less fun though. I think of it as resistance training.
Scales aren't mine but a neighbours and we also weighed his brand new Trek FS 29er (new superfly) and my bike was nearly 2kgs lighter! Just the wheel setup alone were ~1.5kg lighter.
No salt pinching etc required.
My lynskey- 23.5lbs with boing- at the moment 20.5with carbon rigids up front

Furious freds Bruce your brave ..... Seriously how you getting on with them you going to run that set up @ sherwood ?
Front wheel complete is 1.2kgs (Inlc disc & bolts, plus UST Racing Ralph)
Rear wheel complete is 1.6kgs (inlc disc, bolts, cassette, QR skewer & UST Racing Ralph).
I struggle to see how...
Front wheel:
UST Ralph must be over 600g in a 29er, not including sealant. The non-UST snakeskin is almost 600g.
disk and bolts is almost 100g
So 500g left. No chance for the wheel you have. They might be light, but not that light.
Same goes for the rear.

26" UST ones are >700g, so that can't be!

They're fine on the back - just follows the front! I'll likely be on Ron/Fred again this year if it's dry.
4.7lb in this guise.

There's a fair bit of wishful thinking going on with these weights....
Glancing through this thread and it feels as though I have rubbed chillis in my eyes ๐ฏ
