...yeah, you heard me, what tyres for a Powa DFender mudguard on 650B RS Pikes? As in, what will actually fit on there?
Cos I've just bought said mudguard, and it fouls on the knobbles on the 2.4" Conti Mountain King that's on there at the moment. It's a pretty big tyre, and not amazing in the slop, so I was thinking about alternatives anyway. Any recommendations for a winter-ish trail tyre that'll fit and will hold up in Peak/S. Pennines conditions (wet rocks, muddy rocks, rocky mud, etc) would be appreciated. Will a Magic Mary fit on there, or is that going to be too tall too?
I'd be ditching the overpriced mudguard and using a Marsh Guard and my choice of tyres instead.
2,4 MK isn't the biggest tyre in the world either. If it's fouling that, I'd say the POWA wasn't fit for purpose and asking for a refund.
I want something with decent coverage really. I've already got a fender bender type guard on there, it's better than nothing, but only just. The tyre buzzes on that a bit too, if it's not especially big (it looks pretty big to me) then Pikes must be quite tight in terms of clearance.
