I've acquired a couple of bottles of the old pedros wax lube. Whatever was in it to make it flow has evaporated and it now has the consistency of mayonnaise.
What can I put in it to get it back to the school custard consistency it was meant to be?

Maybe try warming it up in a bowl of warm water?

Acetone? IPA?
Petrol would probably work although it might leave an more oily rather than waxy residue.
Depends on what was there originally, some used something like hexane to flash off and leave the wax behind, in which case anything volatile probably works. Others were suspended particles in a liquid so you'd need something that didn't dissolve the particles (you want a PTFE suspension, not a PTFE solution).
