[#4597885]

I have some very specific requirements, which are...

-Fits like a Specialized Phenom, Romin, Avatar etc. in 143mm width
-Has a cutout like the Specialized saddles, not just a groove
-Isn't a Specialized (for reasons too complicated to explain)
-Isn't any of the other following saddles, which I have tried and hate... Charge Spoon (and all its variants), anything by Fizik seemingly, no Flite's or Selle SLR's etc.

This is to be for my road bike, not that it makes that much difference. For colour coordination purposes, white would be great, but to be honest that's less important than it fits right.

A Phenom and a marker pen.

I've tried loads of road saddles and I just can't get away from a Specialized. I'v had Avatars, Alias, Phenoms etc. My only exception is the Brooks B17 on my Tourer.

druidh, it's less to do with the branding written on the saddle, more to do with working in the trade, but not for a Spesh dealer!

Just found the rather cheap Selle Italia Q-bik Flow which looks pretty much the right shape. Weight is OK for a cheap saddle too. Anyone tried one?

Exactly the position I was in. I figured it was still worth paying RRP for the comfort (and knowing what I was getting). It's too easy to waste money on uncomfortable saddles ๐Ÿ™‚

If there is something not worth scrimping on it's arse comfort, that and a method of killing Mr Bond that actually works.

Get the saddle that fits or try and cushion your arse using the money you saved ๐Ÿ™‚

I've got a 143mm Phenom that I'd be happy to sell if you want one a bit cheaper. Just found that I didn't get on with it, so it's only had a few rides before sitting in the garage.

I know you said you don't like SLR's but I fancied a change from much liked Specialized Toupe/Phenom and now use SLR Flow (with cut out) and the shape is very similar to the Toupe 143 and just as comfy.

I found the older style Rocket V Stelth very comfy too but has a groove, not a cut out - I think WTB still make them

i've been through quite a few Fizik saddles and a few WTB rocket saddles and although i still use a fizik on my hardtail the comfiest saddle i've used to date is the SDG Bel Air. it has a groove though instead of a cutout.

The SLR is only 135mm wide which is why I didn't get on with it - the SL's are 147mm which made a huge difference for me.

Now have the SL Flow on my roadie and the SL XC Flow on the MTB.

Prologo Scratch pro in 143. I have issues with narrow saddles and sitbone support and this is the best to date for me.

Expensive! None of them seem to have a proper cutout either... Look nice though!

Could you email a couple of pics to me please. Email in profile.

Too narrow, doesn't support my sit bones at all, leaves my perineum taking all the weight.

I'd rather stand than sit on another Fizik saddle again! Every one I've ever tried has been torture. Bel Air's are/were great, but they're too soft really for longer rides. Great for a couple of hours, but I find that I tended to start to get saddle sore from the squishiness of them after a couple of hours or more.

Could be a VERY good call! Just checking the SL XC Flow out now. I see Planet X have some cheap too (in blue and white, to match my bike!), so may try one out...

Yes... Before I realised just how many other models there are in the range other than the Flite and the SLR... ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Looks lovely, but super expensive and no cutout would be a deal breaker for me I think.
