My ancient rear Hope Mono M4 is irreparable so I'm looking for a replacement with similar power or better. My friends are recommending Shimano but I'm a bit out of touch with whats available these days. Apparently you can get replacement parts for Shimano anywhere in Europe which could be a bonus if I ever get to Spain.
It will be for the bike I use on long descents so will need to be powerful and resistant to overheating. I'd like something that's strong, no frills and easy to maintain.
Thanks.

Shimano brakes only have 4 parts, Caliper, Hose, Lever & Pads. You can buy any of these parts but the units are not serviceable so if it brakes you bin it.

Tech M4 Evo on a nice floating rotor? Love my non evo ones tick all those boxes.
Mmm they look nice. It would kind of match my front brake too. I find the levers a bit chunky on the Hopes.
Their race lever is a bit less bulky if you want something a touch smaller.
OK thanks. Is the race lever narrower or shorter or both? I found the ones on my M4's a bit too square edged if anything compared to Juicy's for example.
Fairly similar lever Shape to the Mono, but the blade does have a more rounded profile to it. Hope's website should yield some pics.
