I want to learn how to jump again but would I be better off with big grippy Straightlines that would tear my leg to pieces if I slipped off or 50/50s or some wellgo V8 copies?

You could always use some shin protection?

you'd be far better off not worrying about what ****ing pedals to use

Whatever pedals you feel comfortable with normally, only you can know.

Almost all platform pedals are grippy enough for jumping with, you only really need really grippy pedals for dh and xc.

Some sort of dmr cheapo ones will be fine, skate style shoes are nicer for jumping in than Asics or similar

Thanks. I will stick the Wellgos on then as the 50/50s are shite.

seeing as BMXers use pedals made form plastic, if your blaming the pedals your doing something wrong!

Yeah - you don't need anything particularly grippy, but its nice to feel a bit secure. If you feel comfortable riding around with them then they should be fine.

My Straightlines are properly grippy so I wasn't sure about them partially for the reasons above. I will give it a go and see how it feels I just need to wait for it to dry out again now.
