Currently have 661 Kyle Straights, but am after something with a lower profile if possible? They will not be subject to rocks or trips outside UK so not really hardcore, more for local trails with roots etc.

Forcefield Zeus ones are about the lowest profile I've seen that also look like they'd offer some decent protection.

I'm looking for the perfect knee pads at the moment but not many local sellers of some of the ones I want to try.

+1 for troy lee. Haven't tried g form but they don't look like they offer the same level of protection to the kneecap.

Troy lee Are nice but I found the knees didn't fit me well at all, mostly due to my large calf, meant they were baggy around my thigh.

I had a much better time with POC VPD for exactly the same reason - some say they slide down because they don't have enough in the way of rubber grippers, but my calves stop that happening. Low profile enough to get under trousers where needed too.

G form are not as protective as a proper knee pad but I find mine very comfy and no bother on long xc rides. I guess it depends on what risks you are taking but thy would take the major sting out of a fast wipeout. I will say that I have only Used mine a few times and I have heard of them falling apart in the wash. Also make sure you ollow the sizing instructions!

Poc vpd 2.0 if you have the money.
Really comfy you don't even notice they're on.
