I've currently got 6 bikes, hanging from a couple of beams, with a ground anchor in the center, currently a student, but my house next year is going to have a similar setup, so I would like to invest in a couple of decent heavy duty locks.
I have a good D-Lock that goes through the ground anchor, which the chains could be attached to, or else the cables could go through the ground anchor themselves.
Would be needing ~1.2m if they go through the D-Lock, or 1.5m to go through the ground anchor.
What do people recommend as a tough, but not too expensive solution, will be pairing this with an alarm system and IP camera to maximize the security!
Mine are locked with a big chain. Almax 19mm links available in various lengths.
MY approach is to go for one substantial D lock - new York one
2 Oxford chains - £20 look beefy though
6 other locks from cheap to ok
All you can do is slow them down tbh.
Hide the keys as well and mine are on two sets with about 15 keys each most of which dont do the locks anyway
takes me about 10 mins with the set to get all the bikes out.
Easier to leave a bag next to your laptop ,tv and stereo tbh as they will take stuff easy to take IME
I'd daisychain chains together with a D lock on the outermost bike and the chain going through the lot of them and the ground anchor
not going to be cheap to buy all that chain though!
These guys are excellent.

I run their ground anchor and then 13mm chain with the squire padlocks. expensive but very good. Worst case is scum bags cut through frame as they wont get through the chain or ground anchor.
Ps. You can daisy chain multiple lengths together with additional padlocks. Thats what I did when I went from 2 bikes to 4.
