tired of struggling to find energy gels / spare kit etc at the puffer and other 24's. Looking at getting a quality lamp for the basecamp... Coleman northstar quality.. anyone got any other sinilar recommendations.. needs to be duel fuel not gas
cheers
Has it got to be flammable fuel ?
I think I'd prefer some sort of LED running off a spare car battery set up.
There's some good 12v LED work lamps around now intended for mechanic's use. One of those clipped inside the tent would be safer and easier to switch on and off.
You do have a head torch don't you? Just checking.
How about properly sorting your kit out so you could find it in the dark? Just a mindset to help when it gets tough and you are properly knackered. Something like a couple of plastic boxes or a colour coding system of bags or kit. I try and think like that so everything is easier to find whatever happens.
headtorch - check, kit organised - check..
its just for the rest of the team. Liking the work lamp idead off the car battery, anyone know the rate of consumption for these work lamps?
Thanks TT for the colour coded advice..may get mopre sorted for this seasons events...
This one is 13w, which is just over 1amp for £17.http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/Energy-Saving-Lead-Lamp-13W-12V-with-On-Off-Switch-Sealey-ML13-12
As a rough guide,if you want to run it direct from your car, leaving that on for 10 hours would be the equivalent of leaving you headlights on (2x60w + 2x5w = 130w) for one hour.
