I'm looking for a bike for my GF for xmas / bday combined (early Jan). So, what are the options for about £400. She's only 5'1", but has quite long legs, so it really will have to be a WSD, as the top tube will be too long on most blokes 14" bikes...

After some form of front suspension, and generic hydraulic discs would be nice too!

Check out the Trek and Specialized bikes in that range. Both these companies have been in the WSD game for a while now, and seem to have a range of sizes to fit even the tiniest of ladies.

My wife loves her 14" wsd trek we got here 2 years ago for £400, can't remember model but is has been a great starting point for her and allowed her to build her confidence.
