Wife's bike for work. grips are spinning, she doesn't want to spend money on lockons. What's the best thing to stick them down with for a bike that's ridden in all weathers and washed frequently (ie hairspray doesn't work)

Lockons are a tenner, probably about a fiver more than nail varnish or owt.

For the faff and a few extra beer tokens i would say lockons.

I know you said she does not want the expense but it just makes so much sense once you have them.

Edit: £7.50 for lockons inc. del. & £9.99 inc del. at MTB-Direct.

Edit 2: £7.00 and £6 ones on CRC

with it being the wife's bike, I'm guessing she's got a few pots of nail varnish she no longer wants.

Still, where are these £10 lockons of whcih you speak?

Jamie, I agree, the 3 mountain bikes in the house all run them (odi Rampage) and she actually pinched my first ever pair of lockons before I got to put them on my bike!

hairspray , acts as a lube to get them on then sets them firm once dry.

Ellnette hairspray is ideal - it's the slightly more expensive stuff. Cheap hairspray is OK though!

Get the £6 lock ons. As soon as you get them glued you'll need to take the brake lever off

Artists spraymount. I've got a bottle of niceday spraymount. My grips do slowly slowly creep, but I'll have to cut the fuc*ers off.
