Having bought a second hand exposure max-d on here, I now realise the cable free life is lovely, combined with quality. What light weight helmet light would you recommend out of their range.

Bright enough to use on its own.

And I'm selling a mk 6 for £125 over in the for sale forum, if you fancy it.

I've loved it. Right balance of output V. Weight V. Battery life.

...But, the equinox is even more awesomer, which is why I'm selling. Extra 20g, but a crap load more light, which I've found is worth it when paired with a bright bar light. I tended to run my bar light in the mid setting most of the time to stop it washing out my diablom. No such issues with an Equinox

Diablo on my off road helmet

Joystick on my road/commuting helmet, which is used for gentle off road detours too

(Lezyne Macro Duo on my Morpher helmet for use on my Brompton)

Where did you source the info to say that the Diablo is their best selling light?

I would have guessed it to be something like a Joystick or a Trace type affair

Joystick, mainly as it's really light .
The diablo didn't seem that much brighter on the USE comparison site.

Mk11 Joystick. Ace helmet light.

Iirc it uses the same battery as the diablo. Diablo on high drains battery quickly so you end up running it on low anyway. If you run the joystick at a similar brightness you get the same battery life for a lighter weight.

I found I had to use an additional battery with my Diablo to get 2-3 hours out of it. This is what made me think I may as well have a more powerful head light with a battery in my bag. That and because there has been a lumens arms race in my night riding group. So I bought a Four4th OMG with 5000 lumens!!

Equinox run it in mode 2 most of the time and on medium or low. Lasts for ever and more than enough light.

I have a joystick combined with a MaxxD , its ample and does the job , but saying that, if I was buying again Id probably consider the diablo, benefit of joystick is you cant even feel it on your helmet .

Mike, interested in your choice. Why not stick with AY UP both as they promote?

Joystick, I have a Diablo as well and I can feel the extra weight on my head. Stick a single cell back-up battery on the rear of your lid for longer stuff or add a Mini Redeye for all-in-one emergency, get you home lighting.

Joystick with a Redeye (unless I'm in a group when it's more than a little anti-social)

Current Joystick is 850 lumens and spotty, and if you toggle the power then it has more than enough for a 2.5hr night ride. The Diablo is heavier for not much more output over similar length of ride.

Axis IV purchased, thanks all. Seemed a midway house between the Joystick and the Diablo.
