Will be building my new bike up over the next week or so.

I have decided to treat myself to a good lever for my Brand X dropper.

The bike will be fitted with Zee brakes.

So, what would STW recommend?

ZTTO? Bontrager?

Ideally looking to have as little clutter as possible...

Thanks.

Been meaning to create a shed clear out classified, which I will do this week. I have a Bikeyoke Triggy surplus to requirements.

I have a Bontrager on my Brand X and it's been faultless.

Heard good things about ZTTO so ordered one for my nephew. Made of cheese (although I was hamfisted in installing it as I was in a rush). Replaced with a Bontrager.

The old style Bontrager one was awful.

The new one isn’t bad for £20 quid. It’s not as nice as the more expensive ones but it’s the best cheap one out there now.

I got the Mrs a cheap Transfer but didn't fancy paying a fortune for the fox remote (which I have on my bike and is ok but nothing amazing). Took a punt on a £15 ZTTO one any it is first rate. Assume it is a copy of an expensive one but quality is really good. Got it off Wish so it took a couple of weeks to come. The idea of paying £70 seems madness when you consider how simple a device it is.

Another +1 for the ZTTO. My daughter has one and at £15 quid for a lever that runs on a cartridge bearing you can't go wrong.

I took a short travel Bonty post off my kid’s bike and replaced with a Brand X - the levers are pretty much the same, except the Bonty one is silver, why is this considered an upgrade? (genuinely intrigued!)

Best cheap one is a modified left hand shifter. You can't give them away now the whole world is 1x and you can even get one to match your right hand shifter, also available in i-spec. If you have one in the parts bin then it is free. Pretty easy job, especially if you have a dremel.

I got the PNW Loam when the stock lever on my X-Fusion dropper was being shonky. I like it.

ZTTO ... replaced a Brand-X for £12... so impressed I just got another (delivered yesterday) to replace the POS Fox one that fell apart on the second ride.

ZTTO seem to have got it right in terms of price/quality, right in the sweet spot really. I'm in the middle of building a couple of runarounds for her and me and I've used a few of their eBay offerings. Seat post clamps, headsets, chain guides, that sort of thing. All well made, fitted fine and look the part.
I was going to use one of their dropper levers but spotted a remote lockout one for a fiver that looks the same as the Thomson one I've got so I've given that a go. The dropper will only be used to put the bike in the back of the car likely so not too bothered about longevity. She'll probably forget that the seat goes up and down anyway, head full of kittens and knitting.

I have the original Bonty lever and liked it on the brand x post where it seems to work well. I swapped to the Oneup post for more drop and the Bonty post seemed stiff to move it. I don’t think the pivot / leverage is right in the lever for that post.

Thought I’d try the ZTTO one from eBay and it’s much better eith the Oneup post so far. Still early days though to comment on longevity - I’d say it doesn’t feel quite as solid as the Bonty one.

Asked this question a few weeks ago and followed advice and got a ZTTO. It works better than the Brand X but anything would.
Not well made at all, go for the Bonty which by all reports seems better
