Is basically a cheaper way of mass producing leds. There not quite as good as the best currently available, but not far off.
Current LED technology already has better efficiency than that.
The point is that their technology is much cheaper.
It will have a much larger effect on more general lighting applications I imagine. High power LEDs are currently way too expensive for most applications.
