So I ride to work, which is around 11miles or so roughly a 30/40min ride. Then do a 25/30mile loop after work and use this as training for the coming race season (first season racing I might add). What do people eat for lunch on days where they commute? Need some ideas that are easy to buy/make (in a microwave/George Foreman grill) and that will help shift a bit of weight. So far eating a pot of pasta from Tescos, but this is getting a bit mundane…
What do you commuters eat during the day?
Cheers

I commute 17 miles each way at about 18mph average. I have something like a flapjack just after I arrive and then;
Peanut butter sandwiches x 4
Fruit Yoghurt
Banana
Apple
I aim to eat around 2500 calories, that's breakfast and lunch but not including my evening meal.
7 types of cheese
chicken broth today.
Make cous cous/savoury rice, tinned fish, some beans and salad made the night before - half a tin/pack of each which is roughly 400 calories. Put it in a Tupperware if I'm carrying a rucksack, double sandwich bags and in back pocket if not. Does me for the 20 mile ride home.
Crisps.
Tend to mix it up with a combo of ready salted or salt and vinegar.
Today feels mostly like a ready salted day.
Might steal some biscuits off work colleagues later.
In order during the course of this morning......
Apple
Crunchie
A few wasabie peanuts
Cornish Pasty from the van
Sossage Sandwich - also from the van
Still to eat....
Flapjack
rest of the peanuts
raid the vending machine?
Bloody hell thats alot when you write it down. 22 mile commute and the same going home.
I do this once a week - the rest of the time I drive.
I wonder whether I actually save money - whats cheaper, food or diesal??
