I am going to strip and re-paint/powdercoat my Heckler but unsure about what colour, any suggestions? Pics would be appreciated.

It is currently white with black forks, have thought about doing the forks white but thinking about a complete change 🙂

Inspiration please!

Rootbeer is the best Heckler colour ever. Fact! Shame they stopped doing it years ago, so if you repsprayed yours it'd be both unique and an homage.

I do like that rootbeer colour.

I have been thinking about a nice gunmetal colour or graphite.

Decisions decisions!!!!!

Raw, polished.

If you choose a colour, slightly transluscent/pearlescent paints look pretty neat. I've had pearlescent tangerine on both a Dialled PA and my Marin Attack Trail. It's subtle but has added depth and flatters the contours of the bike due to the mild shimmer.

That Surly 'Space Black' is rather nice too:

Or there's always anodising too!

I would love to have my frame raw and polished but have been told it is hard to do, any suggestions on the best way of doing it?

My pitch is raw and this is how the guy did it who I got it off

B+Q stripper, various grades of wet n dry, then wire wool, then autosol and cloth. Took flippin ages! its held up well though and looks way better than the paint that was on it!

It does look awesome glad someone else did the work though

http://www.gjfservices.co.uk/cat2_1.htm

They do the whole lot and can offer bead blasted satin or proper chromey polish. The mirror finished forks on there look pretty damn good!

That'll show me for piping up, now I want to get my road frame and MTB cranks done 😆

Does the raw polished need a laquer coat ?
My prophet is raw, been thinking about polishing it and that polished heckler has made up my mind .

Ideally you should but the lacquer will dull the shine a bit though.
It's a LOT of work. I stripped my Ventana but because it had been blasted prior to powder I gave up. Would have taken days & days, & that's just the bits I could access. If you fancy a go I still have the polishing kit with the graded mops, soaps etc.

Stu's green Heckler is the best. Looks just ace.

Rootbeer? Mine was that. Gawd it was stunning. The best paintjob ever. I did notice though that some SC ones I saw weren't as 'good' as mine- like the QC had gone awry in the factory.

The Rootbeer is stunning!

I remember the hecklers being that colour and wanting one so badly.
