Following on from the first ride in 5 years and a visit to Halfords today to get the wife a little simple cheap bike for bumbling along tow paths gravel tracks etc this Boardman bike caught my eye. I was thinking for the cycle to work scheme it would be ideal as it would be pretty quick, I can use it with my sons seat and it is a little more durable and suited to me than a pure road bike.
I have a mtb but it isn't ideal for commuting and I would prefer to keep seperate to commuting/family duties.
Unfortunately Halfords are not on the cycle scheme that our company are part of so the boardman is a no go. Anyone able to suggest anything similar with a similar price bracket?

According to this thread there's a Tiagra equipped Cannondale CAADX that works out as a bargain on C2W.
I've also got a CAADX and it's great - can be a road, CX or touring bike depending on what tyres you it and guards, racks etc you bolt to it.
Pinnacle Arkose range at Evans if it does your company's scheme? Or the Alpkit Sonder Camino.
Its OK I didn't realise you could buy direct from Boardman (thought they were Halfords exclusive) and Boardman are on the company scheme so I can go for the original Boardman.
Markwsf - I couldn't find ant CAADX at less than £800 which was a little more than I was looking to spend
funkmasterp - Arkrose range looks a little pricey for what I am looking for again but thanks for the options
