So building up a 29er for my wife and looking to buy some Boost wheels (110/15-148/12). Not looking to spend lots but due to availability there aren't many options!

Mavic Crossmax - £199
Mavic XA - £230
Fulcrum Red Zone 7 - £234
DT Swiss X 1900 Spline 25 - £265

Aware that Mavic in a situation atm (or at least no certainty of long term future) and so warranty might not be available on the Mavic's.

Will be used tubeless which all can do and will require 11spd Shimano freewheel.

Are the DT Swiss work that extra 20%? Any other options around...?

The crossmax will be nice and light but 5mm narrower than the xa which will be 30mm if the 2019 or 2020 version. So depends whether she wants wider tyres and lower pressures. I'm a fan of mavic wheels, always find them very reliable and good value/weight. The new id360 freehub has quick engagement.

If the dt swiss has the 3 pawl hub rather than star rachet, the engagement will be slower. I've got this on a new bike and it's quite apparent.

Never use fulcrum so can't comment on those.

I've got some lightly used Kore wheels that come off my wife's Orange. Tubeless ready with tape and valves fitted, 27mm internal rims if you're interested.

Fulcrum will probably have odd sized bearings and very expensive parts that are hard to get hold of, Mavic, well just dont. Dt's obvs..

I picked up some Bontager BLine Comps recently and they have been great so far. You can also ugrade the rear hub to 108 points of engagement.

Got some mavic XAs, nicely made, work well, went up tubeless easily. Good with 2.4s but will probably put 2.6 on at some point. Impressed with them for the money. Will probably eventually upgrade to something lighter but was doing a cheap build so for that they're perfect.
