[#12303676]

Ride over to Yair this morning as there's now some access to the trails again.
Then a spin along the SUW and down into Selkirk to the café.
It's bloody lovely out there right now.
Show us all your pics.

Was in the area for the first time in ages so went for a ride up Rivington Pike and then onto Winter Hill and back down again during my lunch hour, was good fun.

I had all day to go for a ride but the dusk hour has been so fantastic recently that I thought it was worth the wait.

Really quick and short Friday evening spin today. Ended up spending more time messing about at a jump spot and taking photos than actually riding. Then found out I'd somehow set my camera stills resolution to less than 1 megapixel - even for my lofi aesthetic that limits things!

Friday night cheeky Peak bivy trip. Two pub stops, a burger, one broken chain and one forgotten Thermarest (not me). Always enjoy a quick overnight trip.

Purbecks "killer loop" (from MBR I think) yesterday, never get tired of the view from Nine Barrow Down looking down to Corfe Castle.

Beer at the Scott Arms (Kingston), great views from their garden down the valley to Corfe Castle, very good HEC for lunch as well.

Did the Gap ride in the Beacons with an old school mate who I haven't seen in a few years. Was amazed at how dry everything was and the weather was just spot-on!

More of those kinds of rides this year please.

We did Cutgate from Langsett and then rode back up and sessioned some of it on the way back to fine tune the new bike. Trails were very dry and surprisingly empty

Tried a wee connector between Amulree and Glen Almond that I've had my eye on for a while. As suspected, some lovely bits interspersed with some boggy or unrideable bits. Exactly my sort of singletrack, super narrow, clinging to a hillside, ridden on tiptoes! As a short crux of a longer gravel ride it was perfect.

I snuck out to the Peaks to try out my new hope brakes in the hope valley
Didn't start until after lunch and overreached a bit on the route so I was blown up and feeling awful by the time I hit to the top of the last climb, but the view from the top perked me right up

Wasn’t able to make it out in the sunshine, but had a very atmospheric start this morning. Still exploring my local area but have managed to put together a very satisfying local loop!

@onehundredthidiot.
It's still a mess up there but there is a way through.
Someone has been building a new entrance into Raelees/Cool Breeze.

We rode Hoes, Murphs Camber and Cool Breeze on Friday.
They're cover in small branches/brash but no major damage once you're on to them.
We tried to ride Raelees Descent a while back but it's just too far gone all the way down. Ended up getting over the wall and down the field to get out.
DD/Quarry and Ginger Mullet are also clear.

@13thfloormonk
I walked that over a decade ago, I had 'forgotten' it, as we chose to do it after a very wet winter spell, so really boggy, then had horizontal rain on the day..
I think I need to go retry...

@matt_outandabout - I think it's one for the connoisseur, a good ratio of photogenic trail vs. unrideable bits. I wouldn't recommend it purely on rideability though 😎

For some reason, a few weeks ago, I signed up to a 95km road sportive so no MTB for me today. Did ride it on a flat barred, flat pedalled bike though.

Local exploration. Highlight was standing motionless (for what seemed like an eternity) as a male Hen Harrier hunted just above the long grass - coming within 50 ft of us. Wow!

Somewhat menacing combo of sign and mannequin!

Did you get any 'special stuff' for breakfast?

I managed to get over to the Lakes for Friday. Gorgeous conditions.
