To quote Cool Runnings, a ride today where we "froze our Royal Rastafarian Naynays off".
50km of glorious road riding - lines of cyclists, few cars, Christmas trees being harvested, and cracking views in between the fog.

Awesome picture! not quite so scenic here in herefordshire, so no pictures , but went for a nice 3 hour adventure with wife and boys on the bikes to find a pond we'd not visited before. Nothing exciting but felt good to get out after a looooong week on Teams!
Awesome 45km of trails today... i think out of the 45km we may have done 2.5km of road to link a few bits, but basically was all trails.
Lots of leafy woodland singletrack, lots of twisty fun and lots of laughs doing a set of steps/stairs in Snelsmore common, i got about 30% of the way down and they became steeper and uneven drops, longer steps, the bike was all over the place. But somehow i survived !!!!
Coffee and scone with jam and clotted cream... Mmmmm

Fantastic local ride from the door today. Ended up doing quite a distance and I'm struggling to leave the couch now. 😂
What a lush day.

Aye, it was a chilly morning

I upgraded the damper ,seals and airshaft of my Yari on my new bike yesterday,so was time for a nice test ride today. It felt very nice .I also fitted a cheap steel Eagle chainring too-which felt very smooth and quiet today.
A lovely warm sunny afternoon for it here:

Back to the wind down 20k after work on a Friday now half term's over.
Local bimble planned for tomorrow morning too.
Local loop - went from warm to freezing in about five minutes.
First off road with the new commuter/gravel bike

I took it on a ride I know pretty well with both XC and some moderately techy downward-pointing lines.
Quite a learning experience! It blasts over meadows, natural trails and singletrack, and is a lovely climber. I need to get used to the geometry a bit more in terms of body position/hopping etc that's coming. Rocks and bumps were unsurprisingly not that nice, but again with increased hopping and unweighted technique that may become easier.
Two offs - both in leafy muddy downhill runs, not surprisingly on the 35mm G-one tyres, although I suspect that the brakes aren't quite as effective as those on my hardtail. Next ride I'll remove the saddle bag and slam the seat right down when on techy stuff.
I've learned that the weight distribution works best on fast corners when in the drops (Salsa Cowbell), in fact riding in the drops is fast becoming my favourite e position for many scenarios - so comfy!
Sorry for the ramble, just one of those excellent rides. A powering to the top of the trail, steam billowing up while passing on a bush on a stunning autumn morning kind of ride.
Glorious spin up to and round Whitelee windfarm

Fantastic pictures folks and tails of great deeds done.
Took my new (second hand) Ebike out locally today. Sitting sweating on top of a Corbett and not from the effort was just crazy but ace 😊
I been to two local parks today, three times in total. Once with the dog, once with older two kids, once with youngest kid
Never seen it so busy! Busier than the last lockdown. Mostly people walking, everyone appreciating a dry, clear day
That Mondraker has a lovely paint job. I’ll be out on my new Fugio tomorrow for the first proper (not commuting) ride.
Still trying to see if I can rekindle the love for the MTB after spending most of the year on the gravel thing. Still not sure about that, but it was a cracking day to be out. This from the top of Corryhabbie looking towards Ben Rinnes.

Did a 50km road and gravel earlier. It was foggy and grim but that's Calderdale for you.
The trees were lovely above Hardcastle Crags but the light was rubbish for a camera phone

25 mile loop around the North Yorkshire Moors today. It was cold wet and shitty in the valleys....I left them behind and on the Moors it was simply beautiful, even close to being warm in the sheltered spots. A cracking day
Beautiful 80 miles on and off road today in glorious sunshine.
Some rather muddy off road sections...

Somehow 16 degrees in Kent today to finish a beautiful sunny week. Rode until sunset on the north downs.

My 2021 Fred Witton build up started today. 35 miles locally in the lovely Sunshine. Given the forecast it looks like a Turbo session tomorrow 🙁

No cycling today but seeing the Fugio above has inspired me to ride mine tomorrow.
EDIT - why has linking to instagram stopped working?
Did a sloppy local XC ride on Friday through the park, a couple of laps of Leeds Urban Bike Park this afternoon (absolutely heaving busy, couldn't believe it!) but this morning was the most important ride of all:

He's only two and quite little for his age, not shown much interest so far but getting there, the chance to see some ducks/pigs/doggies/possibly a stegosaurus or an elephant kept him motivated 😀

Stunner of a day at forest of Ae.
Far far too many non MTB on this thread ha ha
And I’ll add another one with my Cx cum winter bike @weeksy 😄
Started Misty but promising
https://flic.kr/p/2k4pv2a
Still some mist at the lunch stop
https://flic.kr/p/2k4tWek
Not so much mist but plenty of moist.
https://flic.kr/p/2k4pv3x
And descending back down to more mist and second lunch; there’s a really big hill in all that mist.
https://flic.kr/p/2k4tWdi
And I then rode up that really big hill.
https://flic.kr/p/2k4tenQ
More AAA points and another 100k ticked off. That’s two this week and I can feel it.
Nice 50km ride out towards brighouse/ bradford.
Despite thinking I know the area quite well, found some wonderful new stretches of woodland singletrack 😁
Far far too many non MTB on this thread ha ha
Tbf, there's a lot of good excuses why not at this time of year. Our trails are more like the aftermath of the Somme.
Image fail...
The sight of Footflaps Orbea in that state has me twitching and eyeing up my cleaning kit...

Back on the bike after a week off doing family stuff/watching CNN. Timed to miss the worst of the gales and rain 👍🏻

The sight of Footflaps Orbea in that state has me twitching and eyeing up my cleaning kit…
I just can't bring myself to switch to the winter bike (Diverge) which feels like riding a tank after being on the Orbea - I might just ride the Orbea all the way through winter this year...

I know what you mean! I've just spent the morning cleaning and fitting a new cassette/chain to my "good" road bike ready for winter "storage", and in doing do was eyeing up the winter/gravel bike with its new unused Panacer's thinking "hmmmmm... heavy".

Another gravel bike picture to add to the others. Today was my first ride out with my Speedrockers. I was very impressed with them. No rattling and they didn’t move on any of the rough stuff.
Out on friday ... Parked at Logierait and did a loop by Aberfeldy, Kinloch Rannoch, Blair Atholl, Pitlochry

Back road bashing to avoid the covidiots blocking the roads around all the honey pots

Lovely day in the Ochills, plunging into the mist blind off Wee Torry down them crazy zigzags.

Misty in the FoD today, but much grippier than expected.

Local loop, cold, wet, grey but great to be out

Now eating pork pie to recover...
50km on the roads with Mrs HTO on Friday.
Solo 40km local MTB around Leeds today, trying (and succeeding!) to not spanner my bike or myself!

Cold? I was sweating like a fishmongers window coming off the Galloway hills on saturday. Glasgow was it's usual grey november grimness on sunday mind, had to pop into uni, what a waste of a sunday.
Some excellent surfing of fallen leaves and muddy corners on the CX bikes with Didn'thurt of this parish. I actually genuinely can't remember having as much fun deliberately sliding the rear wheel everywhere. I don't think Continental CycloX King tyres get enough credit, sort of regretting buying some new Vittorias to replace them...
Was a classic old school ride with lots of 'under-bikedness' going on, I was pulling some fairly frantic last minute bunny hops to get through and over some gnarly last minute roots. Unfortunately my 'old school' Avid canti brakes were getting a bit overwhelmed and clogged with leaves and mud, can raise the cable hanger but will mean sacrificing power 🙁
Galloways with the ladies

Above Marsden, West Yorkshire, searching for inversions and Brocken Spectres

Not cold - around 15c - and a lovely day was had with Mrs Ready!
