Id like to build a basic website for my other half but its been a good few years since I last put one together. I'm told by a web design friend that Wordpress is probably my best bet, however I'm open to suggestions. The website will be really simple, few pages, couple of basic links, the odd photo and no need to constantly manage content so do I need to go down the WP route or is there something even more straightforward and user friendly?

Id also be keen for some suggestions on hosting/domain registration companies, preferably as one so its straightforward. Im after cheap, reliable and simple to use.

Thanks

Wordpress is really simple and adaptable - you could write a few HTML pages yourself, but WP is probably simpler.

TSOHost are a good company, I use them for all my sites,

Thanks. I've done pages directly in HTML before, but it was a long while ago and id like it to look a but more polished with less effort so i'll download WP and have a muck about.

Any other recommended hosts?

You can run WP on your own computer but you need to set up a virtual server to do it - might be easier to just play with it online.
