Anyone have a web hosting account? Which company do you use and how much is it?
Load of offers online but they appear realy expensive. What do you use, your advice is appreciated.

a small orange. I've got their basic account and it's pretty good thus far. 123reg look to be offering no-frills hosting too - might be worth checking them out.

I'd avoid 4sitesnetwork tho - used to be top-notch but their service went severely shonky about 5 months ago and hadn't improved by the time I managed to get refunded and out of there...

If you sign up to a year and prepay with dreamhost.com - you can use promo code G030 - you get your first year for $30 instead of $120. It will go back up to the full amount after the year you've paid for but you can cancel if you like at that point.

I have used them for years and have referred loads of people - never a problem with the service. Loads of bandwith and storage and good features etc

Email me if you want any more info (in profile)

I host my own smaller sites. We use hostpapa for the club site but it does have unlimited bandwidth and storage for £64 a year.

www.dreamhost.com also has unlimited bandwidth and storage 😉

(by the way I would get a referral fee if someone uses the code I posted above, but only if they renew after the first cheap year)

I run a couple of large Joomla based sites on two different hosts.
http://www.csnewmedia.co.uk/
and
http://www.rochenhost.com/uk/

If you are using some form of CMS (Joomla et al), Wordpress, etc, etc, to create your site then I would go for Rochen as they seem to be more geared up to PHP, MySQL etc.

If the site is an important one then you have to look past the unlimited this and that + look at how reliable they are. What sort of uptime thay have, what backup they use, were do they actually host the sites, etc.
